Birthday PARTY FAQ


How can I book a birthday party?

Send us an inquiry at hello@squarenaca.com with your ideal date, time, and package choice. To keep things fair for all parties, birthday bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your date and time will be officially reserved once the deposit is received.


What is required to reserve a date?

To reserve your date, we require a non-refundable 50% deposit, which will be applied toward the total cost of your event. The final balance will include an 18% service fee and may be adjusted if any changes or add-ons are made to your package.


How long is a birthday party?

Our birthday party experiences run for either 90 minutes or 2 hours, based on the package you choose. This total time includes gameplay and time in the party room for food and celebration.


How do I finalize party details?

After your deposit is received, we’ll email your booking confirmation along with a questionnaire to collect food preferences and other party details so we can prepare for your event.


How many kids are included in a birthday party?

Each birthday package includes a set number of players. Depending on the package selected, a limited number of additional players may be added for $25 per child.

Players beyond the maximum included in your package are subject to a $50 per-child fee, and the game format may be adjusted to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience without overcrowding the arenas. Please note that 24 players is the maximum we can accommodate at one time under this format.

Groups exceeding this number require a modified game structure to ensure safety and an optimal experience. Any required adjustments (including additional time, staffing, or resources) may result in additional fees and must be approved in advance.

Do adults count as players?

Anyone who plans to play in the arena counts as a player. Guests who are just watching do not.


Can younger siblings participate?

While there’s no strict age requirement, we generally recommend the experience for ages 4 and up for the best enjoyment. Younger children are welcome to participate, but they may not fully understand the game mechanics. Gameplay can also be energetic and fast-paced, which may feel overwhelming for younger or smaller children when playing alongside older, bigger, or more competitive kids.

If you’re looking to accommodate a wide range of ages, we recommend booking the Level Up or Arena Takeover package, which provides access to both game rooms and offers added flexibility to split into groups based on age.


What kind of games do the kids play?

Squarena features immersive, LED-tile games that combine movement, strategy, and teamwork. Games are fast-paced and cooperative.


How many games are included?

The number of games played depends on the birthday package selected:

Each game lasts up to 18 minutes. Game flow may vary slightly based on group size, transitions, and late arrivals, but the number of games included is tied to the package selected.


Can we play more games?

Yes – additional games are available as add-ons, subject to availability.
Please note that any added games must be selected at the time of choosing your package and cannot be changed later.

Square One Package

  • Add 1 game: +$120 (event remains at 90 minutes)

  • Add 2 games: +$240 (event extends to 2 hours total)

Level Up Package

  • Add 1 game: +$240 (event extends to 2 hours total)


Is there a party host?

Yes. A dedicated party host runs the games, explains rules, manages transitions, and keeps everything moving smoothly.


What does the party flow look like?

Party Flow by Package:

All parties begin with two rounds of gameplay (approximately 18 minutes each), with a short break in between to grab a drink. From there, the flow varies by package:

Square One or 2 Games

After the second game, the group moves into the party room to relax, refuel, and enjoy pizza and cupcakes for the remainder of the event.

Level Up or 3 Games

After the second game, the group heads into the party room for pizza and cupcakes, then returns for a third round of gameplay to wrap up the celebration.

Arena Takeover or 4 Games

After the second game, the group moves into the party room to enjoy pizza and cupcakes, then heads back in for two additional rounds of gameplay to finish the celebration strong.


Is food included in the birthday package?

Yes. All of our birthday packages are designed to be all-inclusive, with pizza, drinks, and cupcakes provided for each player.


Can we bring our own food?

Outside food and beverages are not permitted. Birthday cake is allowed only for guests with a purchased birthday party package, must follow the guidelines below (see next question), and must be served in the designated party room.

For additional drinks, bottled water is permitted. You may also purchase our selection of water and Gatorade on site. If you have a specific request or dietary concern, please reach out in advance.


Can we bring a birthday cake?

After listening closely to guest feedback, we’re happy to now allow outside cake if you’d like to bring one. Birthday cake is permitted only when a birthday party package has been purchased, must be served in the designated party room, and must follow the guidelines below. Cake is not permitted for regular (non-party) bookings.

As we don’t have kitchen facilities for cake storage, cutting, or utensils, families are responsible for bringing their own cake cutter, utensils, cake display or stand, and any additional disposable plates needed for serving. Any remaining cake must be taken with you at the end of the party.

Cupcakes are still included with your party package, but you’re welcome to opt out – just please let us know in advance so we can help minimize food waste.


Is there time for cake and singing?

Yes – time is built into the party schedule for singing, cake or cupcakes, and celebrating the birthday child, including a special Squarena surprise.


Can we opt out of the food included in the birthday package?

Yes. You’re welcome to opt out of the food if you prefer. However, pricing remains the same, as birthday packages are priced as a complete experience. If you plan to opt out, please let us know in advance so we can minimize food waste.


Can we purchase more food?

Yes, we offer the option to purchase more food from Bongiorno’s. Additional food orders are subject to a 20% service charge (to cover handling, sales tax, and delivery).


Do you provide themed décor?

We provide festive birthday tablecloths and select celebratory décor in the party room.


Can we bring our own decorations?

You’re welcome to bring themed décor for the party room to personalize the celebration, as long as it’s simple and easy to set up and clean up. We ask that décor be free-standing or tabletop only, with nothing attached to walls, doors, or fixtures that could cause damage. Confetti, glitter, ladders, or extensive setups are not permitted, as they can impact safety and turnaround between events.


Do you provide balloons?

Balloons are not included in our party packages, but they’re available as an add-on. Our balloon menu features clusters, towers, number, character, and specialty balloons, plus balloon packages to take your celebration up a notch.


Can we bring goodie bags?

Yes – goodie bags are welcome and can be distributed at the end of the party.


Do parents stay or drop off?

That’s up to you. Parents are welcome to stay and watch, or drop off and return at pickup time.


Can parents watch the games?

Yes. Parents can view gameplay from designated observation areas.


What should kids wear?

Comfortable clothes and athletic shoes are recommended.


Do parents need to sign waivers?

Yes, all players must have a signed waiver. Parents or guardians must sign waivers for minors.


Can waivers be signed in advance?

Yes. To ensure a smooth and timely check-in, we strongly recommend completing all waivers online before the party.

Parents can access the waiver using the shared link and look up the booking by your email address or last name.


What time should my guests arrive?

We recommend that you and your guests arrive 5–10 minutes early to allow time for check-in and completion of any outstanding waivers.

Guests who arrive late are still welcome to enjoy the party; however, we are unable to extend the event beyond the scheduled time.


What is your cancellation or reschedule policy?

Birthday party deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations within 14 days of the event and no-shows are non-refundable and not eligible for credits. One reschedule is permitted with at least 7 days’ advance notice, subject to availability.


Can I change my package?

Package selections for birthday parties are finalized 21 days prior to the event date. After this point, packages may not be adjusted or altered. This allows us to plan staffing and food while holding your reserved time exclusively for you.


What if fewer kids show up than expected?

Birthday packages are booked as a private event and are priced based on the package selected, not on attendance. For that reason, we’re unable to adjust pricing or issue refunds if fewer participants attend than planned.


What if a child needs a break?

No problem – kids can take breaks at any time and rejoin when ready.
